One of the great female artists in reggae, Judy Boucher hasn't had the recognition due to her, maybe because she did not sing reggae only but also a lot of ballads which might be not that appealing to a diehard reggae fan. I have to say though that some of the love song covers she does are real gems that can bring tears to your eyes. Sadly it is very hard to come by one of her albums. Recently I have bought the 2 CD "Sunshine & Dreams" which is fine and her "Take Me as I Am" CD, but here the sound is very mushy and unattractive. What a joy it is to hear 60 of her songs in crystal clear superior sound quality from the "Silk" box set! There is little variation in her song arrangements -- this reminds me of the great blues man Jimmy Reed -- but, oh!, is her music -- like his -- bouncy, joyous, foot tapping irresistible, and utterly addictive! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
