By the beginning of 2007, Prince had spent a few years conquering pop culture all over again. After his volcanic Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame induction late in 2004, his huge Musicology album and its massive, game-changing tour, Prince then topped the charts with his 2006 album 3121 and was getting ready to mount his legendary Super Bowl performance. His 6 month Per4ming Live @ 3121 Las Vegas residency in 2006-2007 was a triumph and this release captures the magic of those intimate shows.
Recorded on 20 January 2007, this performance runs for over two hours. The set brings together hits from throughout Prince’s career, highlights from 3121 and Musicology, and covers including “Pass The Peas,” Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy” and “Play That Funky Music.”
